The Story of 18th and Prairie
Everyone remembers the name of the street they grew up on. How about the street your career grew up on?

Well, not everyone necessarily has one, I guess. At least not one that means something to them.

But I do.

‍After more than 22 years working at the U.S. Soccer Federation, I was ready to make my next move and launched my own boutique soccer communications, media and content agency, fittingly called 18th and Prairie.

‍For those who don’t know, U.S. Soccer’s headquarters sat on the corner of 18th and Prairie in Chicago’s South Loop for more than 30 years. Nicknamed “Soccer House,” it was housed in two historic mansions built in the late 1890s. It was the place where some of American soccer’s most defining decisions were made, and where the future of the sport began to take shape.

‍From that corner at 18th and Prairie, I had the privilege of serving as U.S. Soccer’s Chief Communications Officer, working directly with leaders of the sport, national team coaches and players, and global sponsors and partners to shape narratives, tell stories and elevate the game at its highest level.
‍For me, 18th and Prairie isn’t just an address.

‍It represents the beginning of a new era in U.S. soccer, a place where the sport’s growth accelerated and where my own career took root.
‍Now, it’s also the start of my next chapter.

At 18th and Prairie, we specialize in strategic communications, public and media relations, and creative storytelling. We’re focused on helping federations, clubs, players, broadcasters and sponsors define their voice, tell their stories with purpose, and build credibility and meaningful connections with fans across the American soccer landscape.

‍With unmatched relationships and access to leading journalists, decision makers and influencers across the sport, we help clients shape their narratives and place their stories with the outlets that matter most. Through thoughtful executive and media coaching, we also prepare leaders to deliver their stories with clarity, confidence and credibility.

‍But it’s not only about what we do – it’s how we do it.

Honoring the tradition and spirit of Soccer House, 18th and Prairie blends old-school passion and inventive thinking with modern sophistication and cutting-edge innovation.

We’ll work harder than anyone for our clients and deliver creative, meaningful outcomes that make an impact.

‍Soccer’s future in the United States is incredibly bright. And we’re excited to keep building it with the same spirit that’s always defined American soccer – passion, purpose and an unwavering belief that the best is still ahead.

Let’s write soccer’s next chapter in America together.
